App-based tracking of smartphone use and its association with perceived stress and sense of coherence among undergraduate medical students in Southern India.

Medical college students use smartphones for an average of 3 to 4 h a day. Students with a better sense of coherence perceive less stress. Initiatives to improve the sense of coherence will help increase their resilience and reduce susceptibility to problematic use of smartphones.
