miR-122 dysregulation is associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus-induced dyslipidemia and hyperglycemia independently of its rs17669 variant.

It can be concluded that the rs17669 variant of miR-122 is not associated with the miR-122 expression and T2DM-associated serum parameters. Furthermore, it can be suggested that miR-122 dysregulation is involved in T2DM development through inducing dyslipidemia, hyperglycemia, and resistance to insulin.
