Prognostic impact and survival outcomes of colon perforation in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer: a multicenter retrospective cohort study.

In metastatic CRC, perforation is not necessarily a poor prognostic factor. Patients with perforation who undergo primary tumor resection or colostomy and prompt initiation of systemic chemotherapy might be expected to have a survival time similar to that of patients with non-perforated colon.
