GAE significantly reduced synovitis in knee OA, evidenced by contrast-enhanced MR imaging. The correlation between preprocedural synovial contrast enhancement scores and pain relief after the procedure, although promising, requires careful interpretation because of the complex factors affecting pain in knee OA.
