IRB Approval status: This clinical study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Kansai Medical University Kori Hospital and registered at the University Hospital Medical Information Network (UMIN ID: UMIN00032165). Ultraviolet radiation using a 308-nm excimer laser exhibits excellent efficacy for treating vitiligo. Excimer laser irradiation with 50 mJ/cm2 to 1 minimal erythema dose (MED) is generally indicated for vitiligo, but the treatment may fail in some patients with refractory vitiligo. We present a case of refractory vitiligo that was treated with excimer laser irradiation based on the minimal blistering dose (MBD).
