Patients with CRC are associated with an elevated risk of diabetes mellitus, and long-term chemotherapy, particularly involving capecitabine, increases diabetes mellitus risk. Thus, monitoring blood glucose levels is crucial for patients with CRC, especially during extended chemotherapy.
