There was a high prevalence of psychological distress in patients with breast cancer receiving endocrine therapy. Menopausal symptoms and social support mediated the association between health-promoting behaviour and psychological distress. Health professionals should evaluate menopausal symptoms and health lifestyles, and provide professional interventions to increase health-promoting behaviours and manage unpleasant somatic symptoms for patients and their caregivers; these actions may improve their psychological distress.
