Later menarche than the mean age at menarche (13 years old) and the use of OC (≥ 1 year) were associated with a higher risk of CVD, after adjusting for traditional cardiovascular risk factors. This study suggests that female reproductive factors could be unique risk factors for CVD in premenopausal women.
