A nationwide population-based study on therapeutic plasma exchange for 10 years in Korea using Health Insurance Review and Assessment database.

The most common indication was renal diseases. The number of TPE procedures performed annually increased by approximately 3.7 times from 2008 to 2017. This study shows that other than a registry, claims data can be successfully used to analyze various aspects of TPE procedures on a nationwide scale. This approach could be used by other countries, especially those that have national health insurance.
