On prenatal MR imaging, fetuses with placenta-based FGR exhibit diaphyseal and epiphyseal shortening of the femur. However, FGR fetuses and normal controls share similarly graded distal epimetaphyseal features, and consequently, these may not be distinguishing MR characteristics for the identification of FGR.
