Three atypical/malignant onychopapillomas in a 52-case series with immunohistochemical study.

The diagnosis of atypical/malignant OP may be underestimated. The expression of Ki67 and p53 in these tumors differs from the expression observed in conventional OP. The absence of p16 expression confirms that human papillomavirus does not play a role in the etiopathogenesis of OP.
