Visual art therapy and its effects in older people with mild cognitive impairment: A systematic review.

VAT is potentially an effective non-pharmacological intervention that may enhance cognition and provide benefits for psychological wellbeing in older persons with MCI. Given the limited studies available, with the majority emerging over the last 5 years, further research is required to confirm these reported benefits, as well as to determine whether VAT impacts on the progression of cognitive decline in MCI.
