The childbirth process was experienced with expectation, accessing feelings and memories. The positive childbirth experience was favored by team care, participation in decision-making, well-informed prenatal care, bonding with the care team, effective communication and evidence-based obstetric practices. Challenges were perceived regarding cultural sensitivity in care.
