We must start by grounding our OHC experiences in health equity and justice. This should be done by considering the colonial history of global health and the privileges we hold as members of academic institutions in the United States. Why we offer OHC experiences in PT education should be investigated and clear to both faculty and students. Excluding this colonial history and its impacts risks perpetuating the historical harms to the health and well-being of the populations we claim to be serving.
