Stigma has concerning health care implications for women who inject drugs and this research highlights the importance of understanding the impact of stigma in impeding health care access. Public health interventions should focus on addressing the systemic factors that reduce health care access for women who inject and take account of the impact of stigma in diminishing the quality and accessibility of health care for this group.
