An inhibitory neural tone was absent in the longitudinal layer and neuronal inhibitory responses were mainly nitrergic. Despite the presence of PDGFRα + cells, purinergic responses were absent. Post-junctional pathways located in different cell types might be responsible for neurotransmitter transduction.
