EOL care hinges on the ability to diagnose the dying. This study shows that there is a window of opportunity for EOL care, particularly for patients who are weaned from mechanical ventilation. This highlights the importance of intensifying efforts to address EOL care requirements for ICU patients and those discharged from ICUs who are not eligible for readmission.
