Post-operative intravenous levothyroxine supplementation reduced rates of acute hypothyroidism, fistula, and fistula requiring re-operation in patients undergoing salvage total laryngectomy without adverse effects. Intravenous levothyroxine is a viable strategy to reduce wound complications in this high-risk patient population.
