The SPIC protocol including mechanical ultrasonic debridement and glycine powder air-polishing demonstrated significantly better efficacy in terms of PD reductions. A strict SPIC protocol can maintain for one year, or even improve, the results obtained after surgical treatment of peri-implantitis.
