Vaccine-preventable diseases should be considered in returning travelers presenting with a rash. A patient with measles, probably acquired during an evacuation flight from Afghanistan to the United States, was diagnosed on return from Brazil. Misdiagnosis of highly contagious viral infections such as measles may have significant public health repercussions.
