Religion, Spirituality and Improved Glycemic Control Among People With Type 2 Diabetes: A Systematic Review.

Involvement in religious and spiritual practices may be associated with improved glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes. Specific mechanisms for associations may be partially explained by more effective self-management practices, increased positive social contacts, and regular community support. Further research may further clarify significant associations.
