Younger Older Americans and Sarcopenic Obesity: The Moderating Role of Living Alone.
Youngjoon BaePublished in: The journals of gerontology. Series B, Psychological sciences and social sciences (2024)
This paper contributes to the existing literature on population health and demographic change in two ways. First, the risk of sarcopenic obesity is higher among younger cohorts of older Americans relative to older cohorts (born before 1931). Second, living alone may not necessarily be considered a worse health condition, particularly for younger female cohorts.
