Vitamin D3 and omega-3 fatty acids: A new approach for cardiovascular prevention.

The combination of vitamin D3 and omega-3 fatty acid has been shown to reduce oxidized low-density lipoprotein levels in patients with vitamin D deficiency. We hereby discuss the possible impact of supplementation with either or both for atherothrombosis prevention, and highlight their potentially beneficial impact for cardiovascular prevention.
