This study shows that work absenteeism and the impact of illness on work are common reasons for referral. Irreversible neurobehavioural problems and deficits impacting work are common reasons for unfitness to rejoin the job. There is a need for a systematic schedule to assess the fitness for the job in patients with neuropsychiatric disorders.
