Evaluation of the Effects of Valproic Acid Treatment on Cell Survival and Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition-Related Features of Human Gastric Cancer Cells.

Our results showed that VPA induces apoptosis and inhibits the cell proliferation and the migratory ability of AGS gastric cancer cells and may prove useful in the development of therapeutic agents for human gastric cancer. However, these preliminary findings call for further investigations to clarify the precise molecular mechanisms by which VPA modulates the EMT process in a cell type-specific manner.
