Based on a sound theoretical model, the education program will be contextually appropriate for use in the care homes setting and contribute to improving the overall quality and safety of care in this setting. It could also support and inform continence care for other individuals who are care dependent. Adopting an integrated knowledge translation approach to the design and delivery of the education program and piloting it will ensure the program is contextually relevant and sustainable.
