Comparative de novo transcriptome analysis and random UV mutagenesis: application in high biomass and astaxanthin production enhancement for Haematococcus pluvialis.

Data showed that increased biomass for the MT-3-7-2 strain was different from wild type with expression of transcripts upregulated in carbohydrate metabolism and downregulated in lipid metabolisms. Our data suggests a switching mechanism is enrolled between carbohydrate and lipid metabolism to regulate cell proliferation and stress responses.
